Predator™ 8000 is highly effective in controlling microbial contamination (bacteria, moulds and yeasts) in a wide range of liquid hydrocarbon fuels. Independent testing has shown that PredatorTM 8000 is effective at providing a quick kill to any existing microbial colonies within a few hours, as well as providing ongoing protection against future contaminations.
The testing below was performed using ASTM E1259-05 "Standard practice for evaluation of antimicrobials in liquid fuels". In this methodology, the fuel is contaminated with bacteria and fungi (mould and yeast), and stored over a water layer. At determined time periods, the water layer is sampled and assessed for microbial activity. The contamination level detected is rated below;

In each of the data sets below, the fuel sample is contaminated with a controlled dose of bacteria, mould and yeast. This contaminated fuel is the treated with Predator™ 8000. After pre-determined time intervals “kill rate testing” is performed to determine the number of active colonies in the water and oil phases of the sample.
Diesel Fuel (ULSD) - Predator™ 8000 shows an immediate effect against bacteria, mould and yeast in the ULSD sample at 300ppm. This biocidal effect lasted in excess of 4 weeks.

B5 Biodiesel - Predator™ 8000 shows an immediate effect against bacteria, mould and yeast in the B5 sample at 300ppm. This biocidal effect lasted in excess of 4 weeks.
